gearing up

My family is large, there are six siblings, five married, five with kids (guess who is single and kidless????) We try to meet yearly in the summer to celebrate with each other and stay connected, as we are scattered up and down the East Coast. I guess technically one sib is on the Gulf Coast. The picture above was taken in 2005, when we met at my house!

The old yellow house was torn down by the new owners, but it was so nice to sign into the google group that my brother created to keep us all organized and click into old pics and see this shot. That's my SIL Marcela waving goodbye from the loaded-down Subie.

This year we are back to our regular haunt at the Wilderness Camps in Washington County. We do up a great family camp, with lots of activities, lots of great food, lots of rest, relaxation, and memory-making.

Camp is a week from tomorrow. I'm happy about it. My Dominicans will love it, and what a great chance to meet my whole family all at once--that NEVER happens. I need to make checklists, get organized, make some of my food ahead of time, etc. It's going to be great.
