Thankful

A list. December. Things that I am thankful for.

A little birdie inspired me to make a list. Little birdie, thanks!

1. My mother and father. They love me, and I love them. They are good examples of people who love and care for each other. They are good examples of creativity and master teaching. They are good examples of living a life that is true to your ideals. They are just plain good examples and I am lucky, so, so, so lucky that they are my parents.

2. My brothers and sisters. Always there. Whenever I need them.

3. My nieces and nephews. The darn cutest things on earth. Turds aside.

4. My apartment, so cozy, so me, so bachelorette-ville and so convenient to life at the moment.

5. My vehicle, gets me where I need to go, and it's a nice vehicle, dents and scratches aside.

6. My friends--sometimes I fear I lean to much on one or another but they love me and they are there for me when I need to lean. I am especially thankful today for one Ms. M, one Jen B., and one Buckaroo--and of course, one Beagan. These people helped me survive a long week. Some of them have helped me survive a long year. And Beagan seems to help me survive a long life :)

7. My job. Oh, I love my job. It makes me cry on a regular basis, but the fact is, I am meant to be here, now, and I love it. I get to talk about photos and about Spanish language and culture allllll daaaaay loooong. That makes me happy. And, I am never bored.

8. This weather OH THIS GLORIOUS WEATHER. Sure, it's snow-free, but the sunrise this morning? The skies and the woods and the waters are all pretty magical with the light that is coming from above.

9. My cast-iron enameled pots n' pans. A chef's delight. Now if only Santa would see fit to give me some good knives, as I left all my good ones in Cabrera.

10. My plants at home are all quite green and lovely, cheering me up.

11. My old guy friends. The grumpy curmudgeons. I saw Mr. N this week and talk to HB on a regular basis. I eat lunch with R. quite often. I like grumpy old men. What can I say. They amuse me and I am sure I amuse them.

12. My vacation plans. Oh how thankful I am to have made some vacation plans. Christmas is still up in the air, but February and April are wrapped with a bow.

13. New friends. I like meeting new people and lately have been meeting inneresting ones. I like diversity and I like smart people.

14. My cameras and my technology. Without this stuff I'd probably be water-color painting. A worthy endeavor but I like digital media.

That is what I am thankful for today.
