Hard to believe it...this is the last day of vacation for one week, then next Wednesday I begin again--a sweet run of seven days out-of-town, in-the-wilderness.

Another flash forward to family camp post. It's so motivating to get stuff done to enjoy such bliss as no cell phone reception, no electricity most of the time, a lake rimmed with stones, pines, turtle eggs--and people to share this time with.

I like my little bachelorette life in this big white house. But sometimes it is nice to be back in place again, back when we were a sit-around-the-table-eating-Ma's-pizza family, before everyone grew up and found their own families.
Tee in white is a farmer/lawyer with three kids and more animals than a zoo.  Jo in the hat is an ER nurse with two kid and three horses.  Nikki in red owns several businesses and has three kiddos.  Kip in blue plaid is a university professor with two kids.  Zach in the stripes has two kids and is a programmer.  My dad in plaid (heh) teaches kids with autism at the pre-school level.  My mom with her matching hairdo has a hobby herd of goats, makes Waldorf dolls and tends the most beautiful flower gardens you can imagine.  We are flung far and wide.  But we make time for family camp, at that is important.

  1. I love the way your family remains committed to Family Camp, because it highlights how committed you are to each other. Flung far and wide, you still have a strong sense of where you all come from. It's magical, I tell you. Pure magic.

  2. EIGHT days until family camp. Looks like one of Dan's boy's is coming. Working on the older one but that may mean girlfriend too.
